Dialog Dinners

The Annual Dialog Dinner of Turkish American Society of Chicago (TASC) was held in Mount Prospect at the Bristol Court Banquet Hall. We had over 300 wonderful guests including the State Senators Mike Tyron and Pamela Althoff, Mount Prospect Mayor Irvana Wilks, Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica, Mount Prospect Police Chief John Dahlberg and some other honorable guests.

Dr. Scott Alexander's keynote speech about Ramadan was very much admired by all the guests. We all enjoyed the program and learned the importance of peace and harmony amoung the children of Abraham. At the end, we listened to a marvellous poem from the Mayor which she wrote during the program.

Poem written as Scott Alexander spoke:

" Encounters are like blossoms
falling around you.
Stop, scoop them up.
They are the color of blessings.
Prayers are encounters with God
blossoms of life --
music of the soul. "

Irvana Wilks, Mayor of Mount Prospect
