As UNESCO declared
2007 the Year of Rumi, the Mount Prospect Library welcomed
more than 100 guests for a wonderful panel: ‘Rumi:
A Voice for Our Times’ on September 8th. With the
cooperation of Village of Mount Prospect, Mount Prospect
Library, the Nigara Foundation and the Turkish American
Society of Chicago (TASC), Mount Prospect residents enjoyed
pieces from Rumi’s poems, movie, live sufi music
and a beautiful speech from Dr. Marcia Hermansen from
Loyola University.
We also thank Mount Prospect Mayor Irvana Wilks and Mount
Prospect Library Executive Director Marilyn Genther for
their sincere efforts. Here are the pictures of this wonderful
event.
